This month Sofia Municipality celebrated the 9th of May – Europe’s Day.

Its program of cultural events was also extremely intense due to the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union. All events within the capital were open to the general public.

One of the brightest accents of the day was the concert of Hristo Paskalev-Pascal – Eurosongs, on the stage in front of the National Theater "Ivan Vazov". There were wonderful performances of wonderful European songs. Every single one of the songs demonstrated a highly emotional touch to the country where it was created; a bit of knowledge about it and its culture; a better understanding of the excitement and mentality of its citizens, their way of thinking and life. Indeed - to live together in Europe means to sing together its favourite songs.

The concert is part of the Spectrum 21st Century project - Eurosongs, which includes the creation of a musical album and concerts and is held under the honorary patronage of Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia Municipality. "Diplomatic Spectrum" is its media partner.

In the program of the Culture Directorate of the Sofia Municipality for the 9th of May, numerous concerts, theater performances and other cultural events were included. Throughout the day the squares, gardens and cultural spaces in the city were honored to host Bulgarian and European art.
