The National Musical Theater received the Honorary Sign of Sofia Municipality on the occasion of the 100 years of professional operetta in Bulgaria and the 70 years since the establishment of the theater.

The award was given at the solemn session of the Sofia Municipal Council on the occasion of the 17^th of September - the day of Sofia. "I am extremely excited when I receive an award on behalf of an institution with such a significant anniversary", said Mariana Arsenova, Director of the National Musical Theater. She stressed that the National Music Theater makes Sofia a much livelier city because the art of the musical and the operetta is the most vibrant and the most optimistic. "It sparks like champagne and creates a mood that no other art can create", said the director of the National Music Theater and invited the attendees at the opening of the new season 2018/2019.

The opening will be on the 30^th of September, at 5 pm with the glamorous concert performance "The Operetta and the Musical Feast" - a fairy of rhythms from all corners of the world: Viennese waltz and Hungarian czardas, Spanish flamenco, Russian Cossack dance and Greek sirtaki. The entire body of the theater will be on stage to perform some of the most popular and well-known melodies... And before the show, the audience is invited to a glass of champagne on the start of the new season.
