Vincenzo Vollaro from Italy won the Silver Yantra - 2018 Grand Prix

From the 27th to the 30th of September in VelikoTarnovo was held the 16th edition of the International Competition for Young Performers of Popular Song Silver Yantra. Diplomatic Spectrum was the media partner of the event.

The competition was attended by 80 boys and girls from the age of 5 to 25, grouped into 4 age groups. Apart from Bulgaria, there were young talents from Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Moldova, Slovenia, Cyprus, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For the second consecutive year the Silver Yantra Grand Prix was won by an Italian representative - Vincenzo Vollaro. An interesting new moment in the competition was the Family Group category.

Silver Yantra is organized by the association Silver Yantra – 2003 and the Municipality of VelikoTarnovo. Its director and producer is Mrs. Rumyana Nacheva. This time the competition was held under the auspices of the mayor of the city, Mr. Daniel Panov and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria Krasimir Karakachanov. The international jury chairman was our famous singer Silvia Katsarova. The doyen of the competition - HristoPaskalev-Pascal, is the only one who has been involved in the evaluation of young talents during all 16 years of Silver Yantra. The remaining members of the jury were: Rocco Palazzo from Italy, Katalin Daskalu from Romania, Prof. Dr. Rodica Rosiorou from Moldova, Christina Loizou from Cyprus and IvayloTerziev from Bulgaria.

As every year, the contest was officially opened in front of the Konstantin Kisimov Musical and Drama Theater in the city, with the special participation of the Military Brass Orchestra of the National Military University Vasil Levski. And as every year, this one was closed with a gala concert of the laureates in the theater hall on the evening of the 30th of September. A whole bunch of awards were given by age group: for the best complex performance; for performing a Bulgarian song; for performing a song in a native language; for performing a foreign song; incentives; awards for stage presence (awarded by the Children's Jury). There were also a number of special awards: of the mayor of VelikoTarnovo, of the chairman of the VelikoTarnovo Municipal Council and others. The laureates of the new category Family Group also caused strong applause at the gala concert. Family members - brothers and sisters, mothers, fathers and children, sang together and made a real show. More about the competition and the award-winners can be found HERE.

Diplomatic Spectrum, as a media partner of the event, also distinguished three young talents: Ivan Edrev, Victoria Anastasova and Aliche Belanca. They received a special gift from us - the new album of HristoPaskalev-Pascal, Eurosongs, dedicated to the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The competition days in the old capital city were full of many accompanying events. A photo exhibition by Marina Chamurkova was held, a meeting with the star of "X Factor" - Bulgaria, Christiana Loizou, a promotion of new songs children's studio "Rumina", mini-recital of Mania duet with Christiana Loizou and others. The guests of VelikoTarnovo enjoyed the audiovisual spectacle Sound and Light at Tsarevets, they visited the old town and the village of Arbanasi.
