The Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in the Republic of Bulgaria presented the new titles issued within the last year in Bulgarian language under the "South" program for supporting translations of Argentinean authors.

It happened on the 13th of December at the International Book Fair in the National Palace of Culture (NDK).

The event was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentine in Bulgaria - H. E. Mr. Alberto Alfredo Manuel Trueba, who spoke about the program and the great echo it has in Bulgaria. He welcomed the publishers who supported the idea and thanked them for their desire to promote Argentinean literature. Since the beginning of the "South" agenda in 2010, about 60 titles have been issued with Argentinean subsidies. Each year the translated works are presented at the International Book Fair in the National Palace of Culture.

This time Liliana Tabakova, a professor of Spanish-American literature at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", presented a dozen new titles. In focus was the novel Searching for a Friend by the famous Argentinean writer Mori Ponsowy, who arrived in Sofia for the event. This is her first work translated into Bulgarian and published by the "Riva" Publishing House. The Bulgarian audience had the opportunity to talk to the famous novelist, poetess, journalist and translator and discuss with her the topics that her work sets.
