An exhibition under the program Art in Embassies was opened on the 1st of April at the residence of H. E. Mr. Eric Rubin and his wife Mrs. Nicole Simmons in Sofia.

The exhibition named Glass Impressions contains works by the artists Albena Dimitrova and Monika Naydenova. Their exquisite beauty, absorbing and at the same time reflecting the light, captivated the guests, among whom were ambassadors, artists, ladies from the International Women's Club of Sofia and others.

The Ambassador welcomed everyone while Ms. Nicole Simmons, in pure Bulgarian, said: "Welcome to the newest and probably the last exhibition of our series Art in the Embassy. We thank the "Art in Embassies" program, as well as, to the artists who, for a period of three years, provided us with their works on the topic "Expressive Landscapes".

For today's exhibition, especially because the next ambassador will not live in this lovely residence, I wanted to do something special to capture the extraordinary light in this living room and the garden. There is nothing that catches light better than the glass.

That's why we invited two wonderful artists - Albena and Monica, to present their works in glass and the way they capture the light. These artists are good friends, but their works are very different. Albena captures the light through layers of color, and Monica produces forms like clouds that catch and hold it inside.

This is a great time to enjoy the works. Fortunately, right now we switched to daylight saving time. Till 7 pm it is better to look at them from the inside, as the works are lit in daylight. Then we'll invite you to the garden to see them from the outside."

And the guests really enjoyed the beauty of the works, under the April evening light, as well as the refined food and drinks and the pleasant conversations...
