On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Austria and Bulgaria,
in the framework of the XXIII Austrian Music Weeks, a solemn concert was held on the 27th of October at the Bulgaria Hall. Organized by the Austrian Embassy in Sofia, it was held under the honorable patronage of Mrs. Ekaterina Zaharieva, Deputy Prime Minister for Judicial Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the Austrian conductor Christian Schultz, together with soloists from Austria and Bulgaria, presented in a masterly manner musical works by Austrian composers. The concert program included works by Christian Schultz - Black Sea, op. 4, Waltz Suite; by W. A. Mozart - Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra KV 622 in A Major, with soloist Borislav Yotzov (clarinet); and Gustav Mahler’s, Symphony No. 4 for Orchestra and Solo Soprano, with soloist Evelyn Schorkhuber /soprano/. The concert was part of the "Big Symphonies I" cycle.
