One of the first cultural events in the capital in the New 2024 year was beautiful, and it was music!
On the occasion of the start of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, on 9 January, a concert of the Bulgarian vocal ensemble Cantanti DAI MONTI VERDI and the Belgian instrumentalist Jürgen De bruyn was held at the National Gallery/Palace.
Virtuoso performances, wonderful program! Madrigals, chansons and canzonets by Belgian, French-Flemish and Spanish composers sounded in the Ballroom of the Palace and filled the hearts of those present with joyful hope. The ensemble Cantanti DAI MONTI, specialized in the performance of ancient music from the XVI and XVII centuries, with a focus on the genre of madrigal, sang perfectly. The great Belgian lute player Jürgen De bruyn, artistic director of the vocal-instrumental ensemble Zefiro Torna and lute and guitar teacher in several music academies, played perfectly.
The audience in the Ballroom – ambassadors, diplomats, politicians, people of culture and arts, journalists, enthusiastically applauded the performers. Everyone wished to have more experiences like this in the New Year 2024.
The project was realized with the financial support of Sofia Municipality under the Sofia Culture Program and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Republic of Bulgaria. The concert is part of the cultural program of the Belgian Presidency in Bulgaria.
