On the 22nd of March at the National Palace of Culture the Day of Palestinian culture was officially celebrated.

A film was shown about the cultural history, the traditions and the natural attractions of Palestine and the anthology of the Palestinian poet Haled Dzhumaa “Tales from a Country that is no Longer on the Map ", translated by Maya Tsenova, was presented.

H. E. Dr. Ahmed Al Madbuh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine in our country shared his excitement for the friendship between the Bulgarian and Palestinian people, who revere and love their culture in a way unknown in many other countries. They have their Day of Culture, which is one of the most important holidays in their national calendar because it is a celebration of timeless spirituality and values.

Mrs. Juliana Tomova, adviser on culture to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, congratulated the people who were present on the occasion and particularly noted the contribution of H. E. Dr. Ahmed Al Madbuh for "exploring the rich millennial Palestinian culture". She said that the Bulgarians have once again the opportunity to experience it - through the anthology of the great poet Haled Dzhumaa. And she stressed: "Tonight is particularly exciting precisely because it is related to culture. When it springs from the heart and the soul and its roots lie deep in the past, it helps us. When it is standing on unshakeable moral, intellectual and spiritual values, it carries messages that can be understood and experienced by anyone, it can awake the best in them, in order to develop a sense of beauty and justice... "

Among the guests was Ms. Ivana Paseva from the Culture Department of Sofia Municipality, who presented a congratulatory letter from the deputy mayor for "Culture, Education, Sport and Prevention of Addictions" - Assoc. Prof. Todor Chobanov, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Palestinian culture.

The interpreter Maya Tsenova read quotes from the anthology of the Palestinian poet Haled Dzhumaa "Tales from a Country that is No Longer on the Map" in Arabic and Bulgarian under the sounds of traditional Palestinian musical accompaniment.

The Day of the Palestinian culture was attended by diplomats, intellectuals and representatives of the Palestinian community in Bulgaria.
