On this day in 1963 was signed the Treaty of the Organisation for African Unity, converted in 2002 in the African Union. A special ceremony was organized in hotel "Sense" in Sofia to mark the 52 th anniversary of this event.

On 29 April His Excellency Mr. Krzysztof Krajewski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria and his wife gave a reception on the occasion of the national holiday of the country. Distinguished guests, friends and many Poles living in Bulgaria gathered in the gardens and the halls of the Polish Embassy in Sofia.
On May 3, 1791 in Rzeczpospolita of the two nations (Poland, Lithuania) the first modern written constitution in Europe and the second in the world was adopted. This basic law defines the state structure, the rights and the obligations of the citizens. Through it the state was centralized and government, treasury and army were established. Legislative, executive and judicial power is shared between the three institutions.

Mr. Dimosthenis Stoidis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic in Bulgaria and his wife Maria Margaritas, gave a reception on the occasion of the National Holiday of their country. The event was attended by many ambassadors, cultural figures, businessmen, journalists, representatives of the numerous Greek community in Bulgaria.

Mr. John Biggar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland in Bulgaria and his wife gave a reception dedicated to the National Day of the country. In such a way the Irish celebrated the Day of St. Patrick - patron saint of Ireland. The event was attended by many ambassadors, cultural figures, businessmen and journalists.
