On 11 July H. E. Mr. Moayad Fathallah Eldalie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Bulgaria, and his wife Mrs. May Saied, gave a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Egypt at Grand Hotel Sofia.

The 1952 Revolution Day was celebrated by the Egyptian people on July 23rd. At that time, 66 years ago, under the leadership of Gamal Abd El-Nasser, the July Revolution in Egypt exploded, thanks to which the Egyptians regained the country's rule and achieved their hopes of freedom and development. "The nature and the program of the July Revolution were expressed in the "six principles" set forth by President Gamal Abd El-Nasser: liberation of the country from colonialism and its network of agents; liquidation of feudalism; elimination of the rule of capital over state power; establishment of social justice; creation of a national army; and democratization of Egypt’s internal life. This revolution has inspired people across the world making national liberation a reality and the right of peoples to self-determination a fact." said in his greeting speech to guests H. E. Mr. Moayad Fathallah Eldalie.

He also said: "Following the revolutions of 2011 and 2013, the Arab Republic of Egypt entered a new, constructive phase of its socio-political and economic development. Through the past four years, the Egyptians have been implementing mega projects and successive achievements either in new cities, or in infrastructure projects, in addition to the social housing projects and youth housing. Furthermore, the economic achievements include new factories, industrial and free zones, natural gas and energy projects coinciding with developing and modernizing the investment infrastructure, as we adopt an open-door policy for serious investments, especially the ones that provide job opportunities. All these achievements were made within a framework of an accurate economic reform program that solves the financial and monetary challenges, which were always an obstacle to the advancement of our economy and living conditions."

The ambassador highlighted the long history of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Egypt, started in 1926, as well as striving bilateral relations to develop in favor of Bulgarian and Egyptian nations. "Over the course of more than 90 years of relations between Egypt and Bulgaria, a large number of agreements have been signed, as well as the exchange of high level visits. It is noteworthy that the bilateral trade between Egypt and Bulgaria has reached around 1 billion USD in the year 2017, reinforcing the position Egypt had achieved for the past couple of years as the largest Economic partner for Bulgaria in Africa and the Middle East. I would also like to emphasise the positive role of the Egyptian Community in Bulgaria that maintain a crucial link for the people to people relations, as well as steering the cultural, economic and touristic interaction between Egypt and Bulgaria."

The Ambassador accenton the important role of the Arab Republic of Egypt as an active member of many regional and international organizations and structures and the policy pursued and characterized by moderation and willingness to contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region for peace, security and cooperation in the world.
