On the 20th of December, H. E. Mr. Anatoly Makarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria, gave a reception at the Embassy for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.

The event is already a beautiful tradition, during which Bulgarians and Russians wish each other health, success and prosperity for the New Year. It was respected by hundreds of people: officials, business partners, cultural figures, journalists, representatives of the Russian diaspora, friends. Among the honorary guests were: the Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria Mrs. Iliana Yotova, the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Krassimir Karakachanov, the Minister of Tourism Mrs. Nikolina Angelkova, His Holiness Patriarch Neofit and others.

E. Mr. Anatoly Makarov addressed the guests with a short speech in which he noted the successes in the development of the Russian-Bulgarian relations in the past 2018. It was marked by the joint celebration of the 140th anniversary of the Bulgarian Liberation and visits at the highest level. While during the forthcoming 2019, we will mark 140 years since the establishment of the Russian-Bulgarian diplomatic relations.

Two days before the reception, on the 18th of December, H. E. Mr. Anatoly Makarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria, took part in another festive ceremony - the donation of the Christmas tree from the Moscow government towards Sofia. Of course, the main actors in it were Santa Claus and Snow White. While at the square in front of the church Sveta Nedelya, every citizen of the capital can enjoy the Christmas tree. A truly wonderful Christmas present for our capital!
