On 24 June H. E. Mrs. Ljerka Alajbeg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Bulgaria,

organized a concert with a cocktail at the Central Military Club in Sofia on the occasion of the national day of the country - June 25, Statehood Day.

In her welcoming speech to the guests, the Ambassador noted: "The friendly relationship between the Croatian and the Bulgarian people is a guarantee for the present and the future excellent cooperation. My mandate in this wonderful country has passed in such an atmosphere. Bulgaria will forever have a special place in my heart. "

The Croatian ensemble "Klapa Bosket" presented a bouquet of Croatian songs. "Klapa" is a traditional Croatian multilingual acapela form of singing from the southern, mostly coastal and island parts of the country. A "klapa" ensemble consists of a first tenor, a second tenor, a baritone and a bass. The song is started by the highest voice, the tenor, and later the others join in. In 2012, the klapan style of singing was entered in the UNESCO representative list of intangible cultural heritage.

The ensemble "Klapa Bosket" was established in 2013 in Zagreb and has in its repertoire more than 100 songs from Dalmatia. It quickly established itself as a leading group, performing traditional klapa. They took part in a number of festivals and achieved numerous awards. On the concert the ensemble performed 25 songs, some with guitar accompaniment.

The event was attended by officials, ambassadors, diplomats, politicians, journalists, friends, Croats living in Sofia.

An elegant cocktail followed.
