On the 16th of September, at the Lozenets Residence H. E. Mr. Marjan Gjorchev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Republic of Bulgaria,

and his wife gave a reception on the occasion of the Independence Day. The country's national holiday is celebrated on the 8th of September as on this day in 1991, North Macedonia declares its independence from the SFRY. This year it is being celebrated for the 28th time.

Officials, ambassadors, representatives of the Bulgarian institutions, the business and the media, cultural figures, journalists and friends of the country attended the reception.

H. E. Mr. Marjan Gjorchev welcomed his guests and emphasized that "North Macedonia continues to follow its path towards European integration, shares European values ​​and has already built a unique model of a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-confessional society in which citizens live in unity and tolerance. In the past years, since the signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU, on the 9th of April 2001, and the accession to the EU candidate status in 2005, our country has implemented over 600 Acquis communautaire regulations in its legislative system."

H. E. Mr. Marjan Gjorchev also addressed his countrymen who live in our country: "Dear countrymen! You are the real ambassadors of our country in Bulgaria. You represent it and we hope and expect you to participate in the construction of the modern Bulgarian state and to be a part of the progressive Bulgarian society with dignity and honor."

He then invited the guests in the beautiful garden of the residency to enjoy the performances of classical music by the instrumental trio "Belissimo" from Blagoevgrad and to taste the delicious specialties of the Macedonian cuisine, accompanied by the famous Tikveš wines.
