On the 2nd of December H. E. Mr. Ion Gâlea, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania,

and his wife Mrs. Raluca Țigău, gave a reception in the Central Military Club in Sofia on the occasion of the national day of the country. Its date, 1st of December, is connected to the unification of Transylvania and Romania in 1918 and the establishment of a united state.

The event was attended by many officials, ambassadors, diplomats, journalists, cultural figures, representatives of the Romanian diaspora in Bulgaria and friends of the country.

His Excellency welcomed the guests and the main topics of conversations during the reception were the 101st anniversary of the unification of Romania, the celebrations in our northern neighbour on this occasion and the challenges the European Union faces today.

The guests enjoyed the wonderful wines and dishes prepared specially for the reception.
