On the 6th of February, H. E. Mr. Seyed Mohammad Javad Rasouli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Bulgaria, gave a reception at the embassy on the occasion of the 41st national holiday of the country.

Its date is related to the day of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The reception was attended by numerous officials, ambassadors and diplomats, journalists, cultural figures.

His Excellency addressed the guests with words of welcome:

I am extremely happy that this evening we are celebrating together the 41st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the National Day of my country in Bulgaria, together with the 123rd anniversary of the establishment of the official diplomatic relations between the two countries. Thank you very much for your presence. I wish you all the best on this special holiday.

Iran's Islamic Revolution commemorates its 41st anniversary thanks to the tremendous efforts we have made all these years for peace and security in the Middle East and the world and the enormous price paid in combating drug trafficking, illegal migration and fighting state and non-state terrorism, the biggest of which is the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani, the hero of the fight against terrorism.

Since its establishment, the Islamic Republic of Iran has followed an independent approach in its foreign policy based on mutual respect and has always shown that it is against unilateralism and coercion and a supporter of multilateralism, interaction and dialogue in resolving issues, as the prime example of this is the JCPOA (nuclear agreement).

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Bulgaria have been sincere and good. In recent years, despite all the difficulties and obstacles that have come from the harsh and unilateral sanctions of the United States, we have made every effort to develop relations between the two countries.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the President, the Prime Minister and, above all, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria for the cooperation that I have had since the beginning of my mission in Sofia so far.

Finally, I want to emphasize the everlasting and growing friendship between the two countries and wish the two nations’ happiness and prosperity.

The newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Islamic Republic of Iran – H. E. Mrs. Nikolina Kuneva, addressed the guests as well.

And then the guests of the reception enjoyed the famous Iranian culinary specialties and traditional Iranian music amidst the elegant atmosphere at the embassy.
