National Day Message by H. E. Mr. Anatol Cebuc, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Bulgaria
On the 27th of August, Moldova celebrated for the 29th time its national holiday - the Independence Day. In1991 the people of Moldova secured their rights and freedoms and today we remember and praise the efforts, dedication and sacrifice of the people who made the independence a reality.
As independent state, the Republic of Moldova embarked upon complex and ambitious internal reforms, joined a number of dynamic regional initiatives and is advancing an international order based on rules and mutual respect along with the community of democratic countries.
The ideals and goals our society set at the down of independence are still guiding us to this day: building an inclusive society, creating equal economic opportunities for those who want to materialize their business ideas and upholding democratic principles and rules. Moldova is not alone on this road, our international partners are consistently providing their expertise and assistance to help achieving the goals we set for ourselves.
I ascertain with satisfaction that the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Bulgaria enjoy traditional relations of strong friendship and mutual support, developed in the spirit of trust and respect. It gives me great pleasure to see the ascending dynamic of Moldavian-Bulgarian cooperation in various priority areas of mutual interest and I am confident that, through common efforts, we will succeed in deepening the cooperation relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Bulgaria, fully tapping into the existing potential.
I would like to underline the high appreciation for the openness and availability of the Bulgarian authorities for the strong support of European path of the Republic of Moldova. I would like also to express my gratitude for the support that Bulgaria consistently provides for the implementation of the reforms and engagements assumed by the Republic of Moldova, as enshrined in the Association Agreement with the European Union.
In this period of unprecedented crisis, caused by COVID-19, constant efforts and interaction are essential in overcoming this major challenge. It particular, I would like to address to the Bulgarian people our gratitude and appreciation for the gesture of a true friendshipshowed by donating protection equipment for our medical personnel.
After the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, our countries developed friendly and dynamic bonds which are ever expanding in all major areas. Bilateral economic exchanges are constantly growing and Bulgarian investments are welcome in Moldova.
Bulgaria and Moldova share important things, but most important are the people that make our countries closer. The vibrant Bulgarian community living in Moldova is enriching our society with their traditions and is contributing with its energy to the development of the country.
On this occasion we extend our appreciation to all those who through their activity, be it through common business endeavors, cultural events and educational exchanges made an important contribution to bringing our countries closer.
La Multi Ani, Republica Moldova!
