National Day Message by H. E. Mr. Alejandro Polanco, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Bulgaria

Dear Spanish citizens and friends of Spain in Bulgaria,

On the occasion of the national holiday of October 12th I would like to warmly congratulate the Spanish community in Bulgaria - businessmen, teachers, students and residents in the country and particularly to mention all those who were affected by the pandemic Covid-19.

Spain suffered very serious but continues to be strong, overcoming the difficulties and being one of the most democratic, advanced, modern, solidary and tolerant countries in the world.

As is already known, on May 8th, 2020 we celebrated the 110th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations.

On this occasion, the foreign ministers of the two countries met virtually and sent joint messages.

Most of the planned initiatives had to be changed in format or date, but I would not like to fail to mention the significant Bulgarian contribution to this celebration, both personally and institutionally.

Lastly, I would like to emphasize the close cooperation between the administrations of the two countries, which allowed a remarkable synchronicity in the analysis of this year's challenges.

I am confident that Bulgaria and Spain will continue their successful collaboration to meet the challenges in the near future.

Thank you.
