On July 20th in the beautiful garden of the Egyptian residence in Sofia, H. E. Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Emara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Republic of Bulgaria,
hosted a reception on the occasion of the NationalDay of Egypt. Among the selected guests were politicians, ambassadors and representatives of Bulgarian institutions, as well as scientific, artistic and media prominent figures.
This Day marks the 69th anniversary of the July 23rd 1952 revolution which paved the way for independence and modernisation of Egypt.
After the anthems of both countries, H. E. Mr. Khalid Ibrahim Emara turned to the
guests with a short welcome speech:
"Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear friends,
It is my privilege today to host you at the Egyptian Residence.
Today we are gathered to celebrate the National Day of Egypt. That Day commemorates the 69th anniversary of the 23 rd of July 1952 Revolution, and it marks the beginning of the road to establish the new Republic.
Today also coincides with the most important Muslim celebration of Eid Al-Adha.
It’s important that we gather today in-person to celebrate together, and to announce through this occasion, and similar one, that we are on the right road to defeat COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the limitations and the precautionary safety measures, we have managed to continue to develop our relations with the Republic of Bulgaria, we will continue to do more."
The guests were invited to enjoy the friendly ambiance in the Residence while trying different special Egyptian dishes. The guests, many of whom were seen here for the first time since the start of the pandemic, are indulged in lively conversations and discussions.
