National Day Message by H. E. Ms. Sayanaa Lkhagvasuren, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Bulgaria

This year Mongolia celebrates the 2231st anniversary of the Statehood of Mongolia, the 816th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 111th anniversary of Restoring the National Freedom and Independence, the 101st anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, and the 31st anniversary of the Democratic Revolution. We commemorate these historic dates as a symbol of our proud history and the revival of the foundations of the Mongolian State, and to learn the lessons from the past to contribute to the building of the modern statehood diligently serving for the prosperity of all Mongolians.

To honor these auspicious historic achievements we, Mongolians, hold the State festivity – "Naadam" held annually on July 11th-13th. It is a glorious occasion that makes each and every one of us feel the essence of being a true Mongol and awakens the highest respect for our great heritage of cultural and nomadic traditions. Deriving from the name of "The three games of men", "Naadam" is an ancient tradition of determining the intelligence, power and values of Mongolian men through wrestling, horse-racing and archery, and I am delighted to note that Naadam was enlisted in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage and determined as "World cultural heritage".

The Government of Mongolia is presently implementing "New Revival Policy" aimed at stimulating the economy amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring and strengthening the economic independence, and creating the core conditions for the implementation of the Long-term development strategy of Mongolia "Vision-2050". It envisages the six sets of challenges: border ports revival, energy revival, revival of the Industrialization, urban and rural revival, green development revival and revival of the state efficiency. In implementing the New Revival Policy, Mongolia pursues a peaceful, independent and multi-pillar foreign policy and works in a close partnership with all nations, international organizations and investors.

It has been 72 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Bulgaria, and we have had traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial relations which are successfully continuing to foster in the fields of education, culture and agriculture. Yet, there are farther more potentials to expand our cooperation in other sectors of social, economic, scientific and industrial development, and I welcome our Bulgarian friends to explore together opportunities rendered to Mongolia within the framework of "The Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation" and "GSP+" program concluded with the European Union.

Happy Naadam to all of you!
