On February 22^nd, 2024 H. E. Mr. Ghazi Hamed ALFADHLI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Bulgaria,

held a reception on the occasion of the 63^rd National Day and the 33^rd Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait in Sofia Grand Hall of Hotel Marinela.

The event was honored by H. M. the King Simeon II, the Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Mrs. Zaritsa Dinkova and other officials, ambassadors and diplomats, representatives of the Bulgarian Army and military attachés, representatives of the Bulgarian business and the Bulgarian cultural and artistic elite. Friends of the country also gathered at the event.

On May 18^th, 1964, with an Emir's decree, February 25^th was set as the date for celebrating the National Day of the State of Kuwait – the day when H. H. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah ascended to the throne. The Kuwaiti Independence Day, February 26^th, marks the Day of the Liberation of Kuwait from the invasion of Saddam Hussein /1991/.

The guests at the reception enjoyed the warm friendly atmosphere and the lively conversations. They were fascinated with the projected video footage from Kuwait and the wonderful Kuwait corner recreated at the end of the hall. The culmination point of the reception was the speech of H.E. Mr. Alfadhli and the cutting of the festive cake together with the Bulgarian minister and the Arab ambassadors accredited in Sofia.
