On the occasion of the Foundation Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Naif Bin Assai, Charge d’Affaires of the Royal embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Bulgaria,

hosted a reception at the Hyatt Regency Sofia hotel on February 22nd. The event was attended by officials, ambassadors and diplomats, representatives from the business community, culture, and media.

Dr. Naif Bin Assai addressed his guests with welcoming remarks, stating:

Distinguished guests,

Ladies, and gentlemen,

Today we celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the first Saudi state on February 22, 1727, under the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud (may God have mercy on his soul). Three centuries ago, he established a political entity that achieved unity and stability, and on this day, Diriyah became the capital of the first Saudi state.

To sense the greatness of this historic day on which we commemorate the foundation of the Saudi state, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, issued a royal decree designating February 22 of each year as a day to celebrate Saudi Founding Day.

The day when my country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded symbolizes its historical, civilizational, and cultural depth.

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and thanks to the vision of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is witnessing many major and fruitful transformations in various fields, which are strengthening the Kingdom’s position and will contribute to its political and economic weight among the countries of the world.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country with a glorious past, honorable present and a bright future. And now I invite you to our launch on this bright occasion.

And indeed, the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, both indulging in the feasts and engaging in friendly conversations.
