On July 7 in Sofia Hotel Balkan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina in Bulgaria - H. E. Mr. Alberto Alfredo Manuel Trueba

and his wife gave a reception on the occasion of the national holiday of Argentina. The celebration was attended by many guests, among whom were representatives of the Presidency, the Government and the National Assembly of Bulgaria, academic and cultural figures, the media, Argentine citizens residing or established in Bulgaria, officials of international non-governmental organizations, friends of the embassy. Many congratulations were presented on behalf of local and regional authorities in the country, the business and the diplomatic body in Sofia.

200 years ago, on July 9, 1816, the independence of Argentina from Spain was proclaimed. In his welcome speech H. E. Mr. Trueba emphasised the importance of this historic event. He pointed out the excellent state of bilateral relations between our two countries, with particular focus on the recent visit of the President Rosen Plevneliev in Argentina. He mentioned various aspects of the cooperation between Bulgaria and Argentina, as well as the significant contribution of the Bulgarian community to the Argentine society.
