On July 30th, on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Morocco, H. E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco in Bulgaria, and her husband, Mr. Chaib Lalouh, gave a reception at their residence.

Eighteen years after the accession to the throne of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has a new face - it is an "open-air construction site" and an "oasis of peace and stability", "it paves the way and is progressing with a sure step for joining developed countries". This was said in the welcoming speech of the Ambassador to the numerous guests where she also stressed: the diversity and pluralism in the Moroccan society; the merits of the national security services to protect not only the Kingdom but also many countries in Europe and Africa against the destructive terrorist threat that has become a "global human tragedy".

She also portrayed the key moments in the history of the official relations between our two countries, which date back to September 1st, 1961. "The relationships of trust that Morocco and Bulgaria have built are marked by great maturity." She emphasized our achievements "On behalf of my country, the Kingdom of Morocco, I confirm once more the willingness and the position of our Embassy in Sofia to work with the relevant Bulgarian authorities to re-launch our bilateral relations in areas of common interest, political and economic, as well as commercial and cultural." Finally, she congratulated the Government and the Bulgarian people on the forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union and expressed her confidence that it would pass successfully.

Then, in the coolness of the lovely garden of the residence, the guests enjoyed the traditional Moroccan specialties and the delicious Moroccan tea ceremony.
