On the 14th of June, in the RUSSIA 2018 Fan house at the Russian Cultural and Information Center a celebration was organized dedicated to the opening of the 21st World Cup in Russia.

The guests had the opportunity to see the photo exhibition "№1 Readiness!", arranged by the SPUTNIK news agency and radio and the Federal Agency for International Cooperation. The exhibition featured works by photographers from the agency that visited all the cities that host the World Cup matches. Of course, most photos featured sports facilities built or refurbished entirely for the event. Musical greetings followed, and then the guests watched the opening ceremony of the 2018 World Cup in Moscow and the first match of the Russian-Saudi football championship.

Ambassadors and diplomats from the participating countries, representatives of the Bulgarian Ministry of Sports, the Bulgarian Football Union, the Bulgarian Mini Football Association, football clubs, sports journalists and others attended the event.

The 2018 World Football Championship in Russia will run from the 14th of June to the 15th of July and will be held for the first time on two continents - Europe and Asia. In 11 cities in Russia, at 12 stadiums, 32 teams will play 64 games in 33 days.

Besides the celebration of the opening of the championship, in the morning of 14th of June in the Bauhaus Arena in Sofia a children's football tournament was opened - Mini World Championship. Its organizer is the Bulgarian Association of Mini Football and it is held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and with the support of the Russian Cooperation Office in Bulgaria. There will be 32 children's teams from all over the country.
