The Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" held a competition for children's drawing "I Know Azerbaijan".

October 18th, 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence. On this date, in 1991, the Constitutional Act on State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan was adopted, by which the country regained its independence.

On this occasion, the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" held a children's drawing competition in Bulgaria under the theme - "I Know Azerbaijan", for children aged 6 to 18. It aims to arouse their interest in Azerbaijan and its rich culture and traditions, as well as in the "Turkology" specialty at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", where Azerbaijani language and culture are studied.

The center has received over 60 children’s drawings from different parts of Bulgaria. They are made on 35x50 cm cardboard, and the young artists used different painting techniques: pencils, water and acrylic paints, graffiti, pastels, etc. In their drawings the children show the various traditions and customs of the Azerbaijani people, the historical and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan, the multiculturalism of the country.

All works are published in the online gallery of the Facebook page of The Center of Azerbaijani Language and Culture at Sofia University, and they will be further exhibited during various events of the Center.

The material was provided by the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture to the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
