From the 21st to the 25th of October the beautiful Budapest became a music capital. There was held the 21st edition of WOMEX - the largest international professional exhibition of ethnic and folk music. 90 countries were presented, with 1,250 companies and 2,500 delegates.

Over 700 concerts we held and were attended by hundreds of journalists and 130 radio stations.
Traditionally, in WOMEX worldwide music companies take part, including Warner Music, Sony Music and others. The exhibition is a meeting place for professionals from all over the world working in the field of music - folk, ethnic, traditional. On festival days are held concerts, conferences, documentaries are presented and exhibitions are opened.
WOMEX is of great importance for the development of the music business because it provides an opportunity for the presentation of each participant, for meetings with business partners, new business contacts, for contracts for the exchange of experiences and ideas. It contributes to the creation of an information network to promote the development of different types of music and culture, opening horizons of cultural diversity.
Since 1994 World Music exhibition travels across Europe - from Berlin, in Brussels (1995); Marseille (1997); Stockholm (1998); again Berlin (1990 and 2000); Rotterdam (2001); Essen, Germany (2002 and 2004); Newcastle (2005); Seville (2003, 2006, 2007, 2008), Copenhagen (2009-2011), Thessaloniki (2012), Cardiff (2013), Santiago de Compostela (2014) to Budapest.
