On March 17, a traditional Iftar dinner was held at Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel,
organized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Sofia on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The event brought together representatives of Bulgarian institutions, the diplomatic corps, and religious communities in the country.
Among the official guests were representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, the administration of the President, as well as ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the country. Representatives of religious communities, public figures, and distinguished guests were also in attendance.
In his address, His Excellency Ambassador Abdulrahman Aljaber highlighted the significance of the holy month of Ramadan as a time for spiritual reflection, compassion, and solidarity. He emphasized that values such as compassion, human dignity, and mutual respect are universal and form the foundation for peaceful coexistence among nations.
"Our gathering this evening around the Ramadan table embodies a message deeper than simply sharing Iftar. It affirms that sincere dialogue and human connection can always build common ground of trust, cooperation, and peace.," was underlined during the event.
During the evening, emphasis was also placed on the role of cultural and religious diversity as a factor for bringing people closer together and for building sustainable ties between societies.
The hosts expressed their appreciation to all guests for their presence and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting tolerance, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.
The event was held in a spirit of respect, friendship, and shared values, providing an opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships and foster new connections.
