On June 16 at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski " the President of the Portuguese Republic and his wife Maria Cavaco Silva, gave a reception in honor of  the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev.

The concert and the reception were preceded by an opening of the exhibition "We from Orpheus" and a concert of the famous fado singer Ana Moura. At the ceremony in the Aula Magna of the University, the Portuguese President Prof. Dr. Anibal Cavaco Silva rewarded three Bulgarians for outstanding merit in promoting the Portuguese language, culture, history and values. The state order "Infante Don Enrique" was received by associate professor Rumen Stoyanov, Zdravka Naydenova and Snejina Tomova.
The event was organized within the official two-day visit / 15 and 16 June / of the Portuguese President in Bulgaria at the invitation of his Bulgarian colleague. An intergovernmental cooperation program in the field of languages, education and science, culture, sports, youth and public awareness for the period 2015 - 2018 was signed during the visit; a  Bulgarian-Portuguese business forum took place and a Bulgarian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce was established; Memoranda of Understanding between the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal as well as between the Bulgarian and the Portuguese Investment Agency were initialed. There were also plenary talks between the delegations of the two countries. President Silva met with the Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov.
