On 14 July 1789 the French Revolution swept the symbol of the absolutism in France – the Bastille, in the name of freedom. National freedom, social freedom, freedom of interests, freedom of beliefs, of speech, of the spirit ...

All fight for her: the prominent MPs, politicians, journalists but also the printer, the wash-woman, the porter, the beggar, the medical student, the baker, the worker, the street singer. Republic was established. This event changed not only the history of France but of the world as well.

This year the national holiday of the French Republic gathered huge numbers of guests in the garden of the residence of the French Embassy in Sofia. His Excellency Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in Bulgaria, and his wife Maria met ambassadors, ministers, MPs, journalists, cultural figures. Most of them francophones with the motto of Momoro "Liberty, equality, fraternity" in their hearts.
