On September 7, H. E. Mrs. Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Bulgaria,

gave a reception at the Lozenets Residence on the occasion of the country's national holiday - the Declaration of Independence of Brazil /1822/ In the beautiful garden she welcomed officials, politicians, ambassadors, diplomats, friends of Brazil, who, of course, are also her friends. This was the last reception that Her Excellency gave in Bulgaria, as her term of office in our country has expired and she is going to another European country.

After the performance of the anthems of Bulgaria and Brazil by the students of the National Music Academy "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" Petar Dyulgerov /piano/ and Georgi Raychev /violin/, H. E. Mrs. Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis made a speech to her guests with heartfelt words, in which she emphasized the development of bilateral relations between our countries, traditionally associated with warm friendship, such as exists between two peoples. You can read more about that, in the interview she gave especially for Diplomatic Spectrum last year.

To make the evening really unforgettable, H. E. Mrs. Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis offered to her guests a brunch of Brazilian music. The concert "The Brazilian Soul: From Classical to Choro" lifted the spirits of the guests. The performances of Rosen Idealov /clarinet/, Antonia Mircheva /violin/ and Stanislav Arabadzhiev /piano/ were enthusiastically applauded by the guests.

The guests also received another valuable gift - the just released Portuguese edition of the book "Der Kӧnig Reist", about the trip of Tsar Ferdinand to Brazil in 1927.
