The exhibition "Algeria: in the footsteps of the Romans" was inaugurated on November 22 in the city of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture for 2019, by H. E. Mrs. Latifa Benazza,

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Bulgaria. The event was organized by the Embassy with the kind assistance of the Municipality of Plovdiv.

This cultural event was organized on the occasion of the celebration by Algeria of the 65th anniversary of the outbreak of the revolution of 1 November 1954.

The photographs displayed at the exhibition show the Roman remains in present-day Algeria. They are just a small sample of hundreds of photos taken in the country by the Dutch photographer Marcel Fens in 2018. They provoke great interest in the Bulgarian audience.

The exhibition "Algeria: in the footsteps of the Romans" was displayed at the Cultural Center of the city of Burgas from 4 to 13 November 2019 thanks to the support оf the Municipality.

The material was provided by the Embassy of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Bulgaria.
